The policewoman in torn last night has been in?

Is that:-

A. A question?

B. A statement?

C. Entered in completely the wrong section?|||Rite, do you mean Policewoman ?? OK with that, then

I get a bit confused !!!!!|||ripping yarn love it.lol|||Wish i knew|||...not understanding your question|||what|||eh?|||Can't see I recognise her from anything.|||1. The Army

2. Bed with another woman

3. The family way

Don't really know, give us a clue.

CBB-is latoya a policewoman?

Latoya Jackson learned police stuff cuz she was on an American reality show called Armed and Famous in 2007, which was later cancelled. She was certified, but I doubt she joined a police force and can actually arrest people. I don't think any of the other celebrities from that show- Jack Osbourne (Sharon's son),Wee-Man from Jackass, Trish Stratus (former WWE westler), and Erik Estrada (actor) are doing actual police work now. Okay, I am wrong. Erik Estrada was only one who stayed and officially joined Muncie Police Department. Not only that, he is trying to become certified as a U.S. Federal Marshal.

Latoya probably made some arrests but 200 of them? The show only lasted 4 episodes and 3 of them weren't aired, and she didn't even join the force after the show was over.

Aww, why did I get a thumbs down for stating the facts? Oh well, it's the truth, and I doubt she is doing actual policework now. Yes, I am an American and saw part of the show. Her famous reality tv moment was when she was when she underwent therapy to get over her cat phobia. Need proof? You can go look it up or check out this link- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0921875/

Clips of Latoya on the show.- http://www.youtube.com/results?search_qu鈥?/a>

She went through the training, got a badge, and did the reality tv show. Just cuz she has a badge does not make her the police officer. She didn't even officially join the police department so I doubt she is a real policewoman. Pretty much she just walks around showing off her badge and telling people she can arrest them but she is not a working policewoman. Does this look like a working police officer to you?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVY4DLICv鈥?/a>|||Yeah, it's nuts eh! lol

Doesn't she remind you of the squeeky policewoman in Police Acadamy??? lmao|||haha she wont be cactching them but running away. you wont be able to hear her talk or you wont no shes there lol. i like her though and wudnt mind if she of one . not ulrika anyway (YN)|||Nope, she studied law|||she's a plasticine fake turtle looking freak!!! A HEE HEE, A HEE HEE

Gimme a break.....!|||She says she is a policewoman and learned to be one on a reality t.v.show, however on Big Brother I heard her say she wanted to do BB because she wasn't used to being with other people and talking to strangers, I think she was having us all on lol

~x~|||Well if she wants to believe she is then who are we spoil it lol

Iam looking for german policewoman namely Andrea sultz.?

andrea was employed under united nations police in Kosovo in 2003.she is a traffic police in germany before she went to Kosovo. Not married and also a football(soccer) player.|||there is a search engine called intellius which has all her details good luck mate

Help i wont to be a policewomen but dont know how to become one?

i live in australia, victoria and i really wont to be a policewome but im not sure how to do this, does anyone have any idear on how i would do this? please help me anyone that can...thanks|||It's like any other job. Call the department, get an application, fill it out, turn it in, and see what happens.|||Contact your local Police Department. (non emergency)|||you would have to speak with the police department. im sure you will have months of training before that can happen.

Why do we have different names for men and women in the same profession?

Like Policeman and Policewoman, Actor and Actress, Hero and Heroine e.t.c. They are the same profession so what's the point using different name?|||When did "hero" get elevated to a profession?|||It is just a way to describe someone more thoroughly with one word. Rather than saying female actor, female hero, male police officer, etc.|||Yes, because those are jobs that nobody gets offended by if you are of different sex.

Try your thinking with the title: Doctor.

Yeah, didn't think so bub.|||agreed. it's really annoying. why does it matter what gender the person is?|||An emphasis for the different sexes. Going by your ideology, one would say 'I need an actress for this part of the script', and you'll instead bring him an actor.|||Your question points to a problem that arose as sexist language became more and more of an issue in society. Gender specific job titles are clearly on the way out now.

Policeman and policewoman are now referred to as police officers. Actors are from both genders as are heroes.

Here's a tip sheet from an educational institution that gives example of non-gender specific titles that have replaced the old job titles:

http://www.suu.edu/hss/english/writingce…

Hope that helps.|||Just to find out the gender.

In the sequel to Life On Mars (set in the 80s), who should play the female policewoman (replacing Sam Tyler)?

The female lead has not been decided. I say Billie Piper should get it.|||oh no dont ruin a fantastic tv show with the likes of billie piper..not sure who!dawn french :-D|||yes I agree she would be great|||me! I should!|||I reckon i should!

I'll send Kudos my spotlight number hehehe

Personally i think it should be a little known actress, i knew little about John Simm before LOM and now i'm into anything he does! :D|||That woman off the Halifax ad. As long as she doesn't sing.

Don't you feel bad for all the policemen and policewomen that have to enforce stupid laws like those against?

Marijuana??? Cops are just people and they are generally pretty free thinking, just like you and me. Many of them know that weed should have never been made illegal and that its stupid that it is illegal presently, but they still have to enforce those laws they hate. I feel badly for them for this.|||When I was in college, I took one course where my class wound up being FULL of law enforcement officers and those still in training. We had to write up a survey about various laws at one point and I made mine about marijuana. There were probably 90+ people in that class and only ONE of them answered that they thought pot should be illegal. The rest called it a waste of time, tax payer dollars, and a pain in the @ss. There is hope yet...|||no i do not feel bad

the police used to be helpful workers and now have turned out

hiding somewhere and trying to catch people not putting their blinker on ..

thumbs down as you please but as you get older you will see that i am correct..|||I dont, they get to confiscate the marijuana, basically they can get paid for getting weed.|||i dont feel for the faciest SOBs

There used to be a woman on here whose Avatar was a policewoman....?

...and she would always send "violation" notices to people - she seemed proud of it, too. What happened to her....I haven't seen her around lately?|||Oh, Reporter Girl! I remember her! Last time I saw that girl around here was early August, don't know what happened to her though.

@-%26gt;--%26gt;-|||Maybe she died.

Woudln't that be nice?|||Just like Skinhead Charlie ...reported...violated...suspended...|||Who care's she was a troll..

lol|||She's still here. I didn't know that she sent violation notices though.

Did anyone else really enjoy Coronation Street last night?

I did. I have to say it was one of my favourite Coronation Street episodes in a while. I especially enjoyed the bit where Rosie got reunited with her family, especially her sister, plus the bit where Kevin yelled to John "No matter how long they keep you inside, I'll be waiting" and the policewoman said "I'll pretend i didn't hear that".

Did anyone else really enjoy it, and what were your favourite parts of it?

Plus, what is the nest big storyline coming up for the Webster's?

Thanks!|||lol really enjoy coronation st. last night? you must be joking could it get anymore stupid?|||eastenders is better at the moment|||Bummer, i just read it and it's a spoiler LOL

Here in Michigan, we JUST had the episode where Ryan and Alex get into the fight. And alex finds out that he may be michelles son.

So Rosie gets kidnapped? That should be awesome, cant wait!|||I thought it was really great:)!

I really enjoyed it!

I don't know what else can happen regarding the Websters! lol!

Lesbian policewomen, should they be banned as they are a security risk?

like coming on to wags of offenders or suspects like one butch superintendent I know?|||Look at it as a war zone, would you really trust a senior gay to not divulge info to an enemy if they were involved in a relationship with them?course you wouldn't like I always question why a butch lesbian or gay fella would want to join such a homophobic group like police or armed forces anyway?Look at the dangers in my link|||HOW are they more of a security risk than anyone else?

Sounds like you have ONE cop who is a bit off the mark, and happens to be a lesbian...how does that make all lesbians a risk?

Isn't that a bit like saying all blacks are violent? Or all Native Americans are alcoholics? Or all Jews are cheap? Or all Muslims are terrorists?

Or all actors/dancers/figure skaters are gay?|||There was a time when homosexuality was illegal and gays were a security risk in the services, as they were liable to blackmail under threat of being "outed". That's no longer the case. That was the only "security risk".

Sounds like you have the problem, not others. Has she turned you down?|||why would they be a security risk. I think your just insecure. Just because somebody likes people of the same sex doesn't make everybody of the same sex a target for them. Thats like saying a male pc shouldn't be allowed to arrest, speak to etc a female person, because there could be a risk there!! What a load of xrap|||I cannot believe you would ask such a ridiculous and outrageous question. You clearly have homophobic issues. I think the question you should be asking is what can you do to be a more tolerant and accepting human being. I'm disgusted.|||there are 4 police women in my town and 3 are butchie and they do okay for themselves and could easily knock the socks off of any of the male officers.

hmmm so i'm thinking the women are solid and not a risk at all to security|||I don't know about being a security risk but they sure as hell shouldn't be able to do strip searches of female offenders. I mean if the male officers can't, then why should the lesbian officers be able to?|||Absolutely not. Just because of one lesbian officer overstepping the mark you want to ban all lesbians; that's ridiculous.

Are you telling me that straight officers don't 'come on' to offenders or suspects?!?|||Male police officers are much more inclined to hit on women suspects than a lesbian cop is. BTW - your attitude sucks.|||NO.....Its discrimination and hate to ban someone from a job just because of sexual orientation. This would be as bad as the Army Don Ask Don't Tell policy.|||if u'd met ne lesbian police officers .u'd know they don't come on to ne 1..i don't know how u work out that they'd be a security risk..so the amswer is no|||to right they should be banned, big scandal some years back about a senior dyke were I live having it off with women to get their partners off! at court|||No|||Sounds like you have a personal beef with her.|||um well im sure a lesbian police women is likely to hit on a girl as a straight man|||Hmm...I think you might be a tad jealous.|||Don't be such a prat!!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a singer/ songwriter or an actress, but If that doesn't work out I have a plan B.My backup plan is to be an Animal Control Rescue person or a Policewoman.

What are your plan A and plan B?|||Plan A is singer/songwriter, but if not, plan B is teaching band/chorus at a school.

Yeah, I kinda really like music.|||Alive, lets just get there first.|||No idea exactly.

But I think I've decided I'm going to enroll with the Canadian Forces for subsidized university.

About 6 or 7 years of university, military training, and working for them in a field I'll choose later on. If I decide to stick with it after my years are done, I'll sign on again.|||i don't know which is plan A and which is plan B yet, but i want to either be a teacher or work at NASA. =) good luck with your dreams!|||I want to be a scientist, I want to volunteer and help to diagnose HIV/AIDs/malaria etc. But I've always wanted to write a book as well.

xx|||plan A...was a helicopter pilot in the coast guard. thats not happening so

plan B...firefighter, thats for sure happening. i really want to get on with FDNY|||I REALLY want to be a Vet, if not a Vet then a Nurse.|||A famous author and either an English Professer or a Middle school English teacher.

xoxo

Meghan|||I don't WANT to be anything, I'm GOING to be a Radiologist, I'm already studying to be one.|||A. Oncologist (cancer doctor)

B. R.N. (registered nurse)|||Well my main goal is to become a successful lawyer-hopefully! :) but if that doesn't work out then Plan B will be a journalist.|||I have two plans, but they aren't an A or B. I will make both of them happen, or die in the process.

I will become an elementary school teacher, and I will publish several books. Neither if these are going to make me rich (unless I get REALLY lucky with one of the books. haha) but I love kids, and I love words. And teaching will keep food on the table and a roof over my head. That's really all that matters.|||i want a decent living and loads of money.|||im not sure...i just know i wanna be a mom

Guys: Have you ever made a move on a policewoman?

Like offer to buy her a drink or something? Strike up a conversation? Etc.|||Only when they're not on duty...

Its funny, the police women in my area are very attractive ladies...and I mean, VERY ATTRACTIVE!|||same thing as any other woman.|||several times.|||ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........鈥?/div>

|||I hit on policement. It normal doenst owrk though sicne they are cocky.|||u shoudnt do that i saw that once and she fake arrested the guy cuz she didnt kno him at all it was funny shes was all like " u **** punk get your*** out of this precint now"

Why didn't the USA media even discuss that the Taliban killed a high-profile policewoman?

This is by far the most depressing story of the week, along with the bail-out of the banks which to me is still not as big as the loss of human life.

In the USA, nobody knows a thing about the Taliban killing of a Policewoman who was supporting the needs and frustrations of women in Afghanistan. Without mercy, the Taliban shot her down and said "She was the target and we got our target obliterated."

Now the Taliban continues to keep an all-male run society with females having to fear for their lives the risk of trying to change the system.

The same Taliban that habored Osama bin Laden, whose network was responsible for the 9/11 attacks in New York and Washington, is suddenly of no interest to the headline news in the USA, the country on whose behalf the whole war in Afghanistan concerns?

That's disgraceful. The focus is on Iraq Iraq Iraq, a country that bared no role in 9/11 at all. And the Canadians are fighting America's war for them. And they say the USA's army defends Canada??? It looks like quite the opposite if you ask me.|||There are 36000 American troops in Afghanistan as compared to 2000 Canadians so I don't know where you get the idea that Canada is fighting our war for us.

As far as no coverage on a dead police woman in Afghanistan goes, in case you haven't noticed we're in the middle of a once in a century financial crisis and that has a tendency to trump the death of a cop half a World away. Besides everyone already knows that life for women in Afghanistan sucks, but thanks for the update. |||This is nothing new. Anytime a female steps up to do something different they get shot. It has been happening for a long time, and its sad. Females that run beauty salones there get death threats and are kidnapped.

I cant believe you are actually implying that canada has a powerful army, or even one that could compare to the US.|||I think you answered your own question. While the death of a policewoman is tragic, it's way down the list of important things going on in this country right now. Between the economy, the war, and the election there just isn't time.|||The same reason that the media reports only 1/30 th of all the food riots going on around the world...they don't care and there isn't enough interest and they are in very poor countries. These riots usually have no less than ten hungry people die per riot (some of the riots have had several hundred people die)...and these are working people whose total income for a full day's work isn't enough to buy food for their children.|||The "only reason I know about this story is" Because your a Canadian pretending to be an Americian.|||Bubba is right that there are a lot more Americans in Afghanistan than Canadians. There was actually a lot more than I expected.

But I would have to correct the numbers a bit. The Americans at last count had a little over 35,000 troops in Afghanistan, but that was a combined total for the two operations that are going on there (Operation Enduring Freedom is the non-NATO campaign, ISAF is the NATO operation)

The Canadians actually have over 4500 troops if you combine the 2025 from the OEF campaign and the 2500 from ISAF.

But you are right, things in Afghanistan and even in Iraq are taking a backburner now, since the DOW dropped more points in one day than it did when the World Trade Center was attacked.

And with elections upcoming in both Canada and USA, it simply is not "hot news" to say someone died in the war in the middle east, especially if it was not an American or Canadian soldier.|||its terrible that you canadians got mixed up into our stupid war.....

How long does it take to be a detective?

I'm still in high school at the moment but i would like to know how many years it takes to become a policewoman then a detective .

and also how many years does it take to become a psychiatrist|||Here is a little tip...study first, get your degree.

Then, go to the Academy and become a cop.

Most departments require a degree to get promoted and if you have it before hand, it'll be much faster to get higher up in the department.

It is very hard to go to school and work as a peace officer because of the hours so...

Since you are in high school, I would say... take a few classes during the summer in a community college and start working towards it!

Oh! and stay out of trouble!

Good luck!|||You can normally apply for investigations after a minimum of 2 years on patrol, but each department is different.

Is it Halal for a muslim lady to become a policewoman?

I know a muslim lady who was a policewoman and one day on duty she encountered an irishman who was drunk urinating on the lamp post. She charged him as a vagrant and asked him to accompany her to the cop station.

He then told her this, ' instead of the cop station lets go behind the back ally of this pub and get on with it. its very quiet there and no once can see what we do. but dont tell my wife ok'

what do you think?|||I doubt many work. It is halal to be a dole scrounger. Still, being a cop is better than this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-…

Hate preacher Bakri Mohammed's daughter is a pole dancer and he paid for her boob job. How do you spell hypocite? lol|||What do I think...? The man was the one who was uttering silly stuff due to his drunkenness, how exactly does that have any Impact on the Muslim woman and her doing her job....?

~You failed please try again next time.

---

Why would it be degrading to the Muslim woman...? The man is the one who should feel like that stooping to such immoral levels but then again that is what the drink does, no wonder we are to stay well away from it!|||No, there are policewomen in all Muslim countries

You need policewomen very badly

But they are to do certain tasks to do with what is suitable for them and related to women

but they are to be trained for tough situation so that they can face up to this kind of Harassment

Women who choose this line of career are usually tough enough to take it and they understand that he is drunk and he does not know really what he is saying.|||i dont understand what you mean, it is halal for her to be a policewoman, shes not the one who said those things, the drunken irishman did, she may encounter stuff like that but doesnt mean she has to act on it|||It was not the policewoman who was told that by the drunk.

It was U who was told that as u were waiting at the lamp post for men.|||Yes it is Halal for a muslim lady to become a policewoman, or even a soldier.|||yes because islam doesn't allow women to do things like men.

one sentence I remember.

""any organizes or groups or towns leaded by the women will come to the ruin".|||I think u mean " Is it HARAM for a muslim lady to become a policewoman?

LOL|||Jazak-Allahu khayran @ viper. I'll keep the list handy, insha'Allah.|||it si completely hala for a muslim woman to become anything she wants...apart from revealing things if u know what i mean|||Women working in the security services

Can women take part in jihaad along with men? What about women working in the women’s sections of the security services?

Praise be to Allaah.

Jihaad by the sword and with other weapons is not obligatory on women. It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah said: “I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, do women have to do any kind of jihaad?’ he said, ‘Yes, jihaad in which there is no fighting – Hajj and ‘Umrah.’” – Narrated by Imaam Ahmad, 24794). Because men are responsible for defending women. Hence it is not permissible to draft them into the army like men, because of the bad consequences that result from that. The state of affairs in countries which have allowed that clearly demonstrate the harmful effects to which this leads. But if the army needs nurses to tend the soldiers’ wounds and there are women who can do this well, then their services may be used, so long as due attention is paid to the guidelines of sharee’ah, and proper Islamic etiquette is observed.

Similarly, it is not permissible for women to work in the police and other security organizations if this work has to do with men. If, however, it has to do with women, such as a women’s division in the police force to deal with women, or supervision of women prisoners in jails, or inspecting women in airports, and so on, then this is permissible and may indeed be necessary. They should be employed in such cases so that women will not be forced to mix with men and uncover themselves in front of them.

What do they call this person who holds the "Stop" sign so people can pass the pedestrian lane safely?

He/she is not a policeman/policewoman, not a security guard nor a traffic police. please help.|||The crossing guard|||Crossing guard or school crossing guard depending upon what part of the world you live in. Different areas give them different names or slang terms.|||they could probably be a crossing guard or a temporary traffic director.|||The crossing guard :)|||lollypop lady! or lollypop man! always called there here in Australia.|||This is a crossing guard.|||For most places they are called crossing guards

How do you know if you are traumatised?

I'm still constantly thinking and dreaming of my experiences of being section 136'd (happened 5 weeks ago) by the Police. I get an eerie sensation when I see a police van or police officers. I also get an eerie sensation when I pass a certain multi-storey car park. I had to walk past there Friday and I got so paranoid that they would call the police on me again, and I assumed when I saw a policewoman crossing the road nearby she was there to get me, so I scurried on past.|||Being sectioned is a traumatic experience, and I think the feelings that you describe are common to everyone who's been through it, myself included. It should become easier to cope with as time goes by, but if it doesn't, it might be an idea to consult a doctor. Which probably sounds like the last thing you want to hear right now =/

Just remember, this will become easier to deal with. The brain has a funny way of fuzzing details as time goes by.|||It is possible. After 5 or 6 weeks the feelings could still be acute %26amp; it could take some further time for them to subside. Just take a note of how you feel now %26amp; then give it another month %26amp; think again about whether the feelings are as strong then as they are now. The chances are they should have started to subside by then. If they haven't, or if they feel worse you should visit your doctor.

Then again, I don't follow school rules, that might be my problem. If you are afraid of pulling that off, why don't you go as a filthy milionnaire, and when they ask you what your occupation is, tell them you inherited a multi-billion company. Or you can go as a heiress, Paris Hilton does it every day. It's an occupation.|||Go as an astronaut.|||Go to Deb or Wet Seal or something and find either a dress or a skirt and shirt that aren't to hooker-ish looking and then, try them on to see if you look good in it or not. she just needs to get over it|||If she's a police officer she'll likely have enough discipline to not hurt you physically. Just be honest and polite about your reasons for breaking up with her. Don't lie or try to sugar coat it. That will likely just tick her off.

Acting like a jerk to get her to dump you can seriously back fire. It will all be your fault. Or at the same time, she might be just clingy enough to stick around. I want to be a policewoman...what do i need to do?

any one know the salary, how old you have to be to join, how you get into the police force or if you need any qualifications?? would mean a lot

thanks|||What qualifications and experience will employers look for?

To be eligible to join the police, you must:

be a British citizen, a citizen of the Commonwealth, EU or other EEA country, or a foreign national with indefinite leave to remain in the UK

be at least 18 years old

satisfy background and security checks and declare any previous convictions

have above average physical fitness, with good vision and colour vision (with or without glasses or contact lenses).

Before you are accepted as a trainee police officer, you will need to pass a series of tests covering areas such as working with numbers, communication, reading and writing skills, information handling, decision making and reasoning. You will also have a physical fitness test, a health check and a psychometric test.

Police officer recruitment is handled by individual police forces and their eligibility criteria can vary. Check with your local force for exact details 鈥?see the Police Service Recruitment, Consensia Partnership and Scottish Police Forces websites for contact details.

As a probationer, student officer or serving officer, you may be able to join the High Potential Development Scheme (HPDS). This Scheme is designed to develop future leaders and senior officers within the police force and leads to a Masters qualification. Check the Police Service Recruitment website, or the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) website for details.

What further training and development can I do?

During your first two years as a trainee (or probationer) police officer, you will spend time learning on the job within your local force and studying subjects such as community safety at a police college. This period is part of an Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP) and includes supervised and independent patrolling.

Your probationary period will include working towards NVQ Level 3 in Policing, and you will also be expected to achieve NVQ Level 4 in Policing either during or shortly after this time. These awards cover areas such as communicating with the public, conducting investigations, presenting evidence in court and interviewing witnesses, victims and suspects.

You may increase your chances of promotion if you go on to study for a range of other NVQ qualifications such as:

Level 3 in Police Supervisory Management

Level 4 in Police Organisational Management

levels 4 and 5 in Police Operational Management

Level 5 in Police Strategic Management.

Throughout your career you will be expected to keep your skills up to date and take part in relevant training as necessary

Do West Coast Lefties find their brides thru an agency, or direct from the Communist Party of China?

I think only a few people who live in Marxist communities will understand. These women look very different from normal Chinese. They look like angry soldiers or policewomen.|||Rom the Communist Party of China. The Khmere Rouge girls have all grown old.

Can become a policewoman of S.W.A.T.?

If you're asking if a policewoman can become a member of a SWAT team the answer is yes. It might depend on the departments rules but I have seen plenty of female SWAT members.|||Yes, provided you can pass a 3rd grade grammar test.

You may have a hard time.|||Yes a woman can becoem a SWAT officer but they do have to be a patrol officer first then take the department test in order to be part of the SWAT team.|||Oh, yes!

How do I get rid of a this kid in Sims 3?

So, here's the thing. I had twins. Both girls. I want to get rid of the other girl, because I only wanted one girl. If I trap the kid with walls and try to starve her to death. The policewoman (was that a policewoman? whatever) would steal both of the kids. So, how do I get rid/kill the girl and leave the other girl behind?|||Wow lol, well maybe you should try a nicer way of "getting rid" of this unwanted girl. just get someone to move in with you and then have them move out again but this take they can take one of the girls with them instead of trying to kill them. pretty messed up.|||HAX|||The fastest method i can think of is make her excersise until she is fatiged then put her in the pool and box around with walls until she drowns then just delete the grave after, it would be as if she never existied.

(I said fatiged because otherwise they swim around for hours)

Can anyone think of a non-slutty costume for a uniform themed party?

Every website I look at is full of "sexy policewoman" costumes made of polyester that are just horrible. I would be very grateful for any ideas for an attractive but not actually whorish costume! If anyone can think of a pair of costumes that my boyfriend and I could wear that would be even better.|||Try some of these

Which pressure groups in the UK are campaigning for the return of the death penalty?

I have enjoyed spending much time in Singapore and have marvelled at how people safely walk around at night and also how families leave their children in shopping malls whilst they go to the bank. In the UK this week we see the murder of a policewoman and also a man who stole credit cards from a nurse leaving her locked in a car boot for 10 days. Quite simply criminals have free reign in the UK as they know the law is soft.

Let me know if you know groups

Thanks

Jon|||I'm cynical too, but I don't think the death penalty is murder, it's a duly rendered punishment by law.|||The death penalty does not create a perfect, crime-free Utopia. We had capital punishment in the past. We abolished it for two major reasons. One being that mistakes are made. Another is that it is not a deterrent. Crime still happens.

It is no accident that the 13 out of 50 US states which have no death penalty, also have the lowest crime, and the state which executes the most has the worst crime figures.

No serious politicians in the UK wants it reinstated, and it would be contrary to our commitments under the terms of the European Convention on Human Rights, which the UK drafted and signed in 1950, against the rules of the Council of Europe, and the EU.

The real reason for the apparent low crime in Singapore will be to do with cultural attitudes, not to how criminals are murdered.

I suspect that far from being the crime free paradise you describe, Singapore does indeed have crime, murder, robbery and the like.

Iraq, Sierra Leone, Angola, S Africa, Columbia, Brazil, Venezuela, Russia, Turkey, China, the US, and many more countries (in fact 85 countries in total) have a worse murder rate than the UK.

Granted, Singapore has the second lowest official rate in the world. But how accurate is crime reporting there?

Would i be able to be a policewoman/cid ? UK?

i'm 15 and i've always wanted to be cid be i know you have to be a normal policewoman for a few years

i turn 16 next april but i had this accident when i was 12 near the end of year 7 that put me in a wheelchair i had an exfixtation in my leg like big pins that stick out of my leg until it healed %26amp; the school promised me a home tutor but that never happened %26amp; they didnt send no work out so i didn't have no education, the start of 2009 i got the pins taken out my walking is fine now, and ive been keeping my fitness up, but i still have'nt been school since that accident because when i went back people we're bullying, but now i've reported the education for not helping me and we have a meeting on the 4th of july for me too go to horizons which is like an hour a week and do my education their, will i still be able to train for a policewoman cause i don't think i will get in college even if i did go back school for the last year they already said that! :(|||It really depends upon you level of intelligence, I don't mean that in a patronising way, but even if the school haven't been sending you stuff, how have you been spending your time. How is your English, maths etc.

Additionally, you do need more than qualification to get into the police force so like the other poster said, things like volunteering or first aid skill etc will mean you possess other life skills.

Also you can re-do you GCSEs at college, again like the other poster said, the loser at your school who are also the bullies were the ones re-doing the same year whilst I was moving on!! Im not saying your a loser I just mean there is more than one place for you to be able to do you GCSEs, because really that's all you need 5 A-Cs and you can get on the road to becoming a police officer.

I would ask a ton of questions at the education board meeting that you've said your going too, like the numerous ways you can get back on track, all the courses you can take, whether you can go to a different building or what ever. It looks like your going to have to fight for it yourself, but its still possible, just a bit of hard work needed!

Good Luck|||I hope you the best of luck in the future and if you do become a policewomen you will be an inspiration for others.

Good Luck!|||No you couldn't......................|||Good question:

It's a question, I don't have an answer to, so, good luck!|||Bullying is never nice and can potentially ruin the victims self confidence and their development in the future,

sadly you have had 2 useless replys so i will try and give you an decent answer, at the moment you are only 15 so you have alot of options at the moment,

1, screw the Bullys every bully i know from school is on the dole and has a crap lifestyle (im 25)

2, if high school isn't helping it's not the end of the world, when you leave, just go to college/sixth form and study uniformed %26amp;public services

3, go to online to your local Police force check if they have a cadets scheme that you can join this will be a foot in the door,

when you are 18 look at volunteering as a Special Constable this will get you the experience you need,

from what i hear CID is hard to get into it could be years after your 2year Probation before you get a chance, so look at regular Policing first,

Honestly the Bullys will be on the dole in 3 years so dont worry the fact you have asked this question shows you have the attitude to make somthing of yourself

What do you think is the harder challenge: to be a policewoman in one of the world's most dangerous cities?

Or to persuade a conservative husband %26amp; society to accept her choice of career?

In her old Baghdad house, policewoman Bushra Kadhem serves breakfast to her children, finishes her tea and readies herself for a day manning checkpoints in one of the world's most dangerous cities.

Kadhem, 43, became one of Iraq's first policewomen in 2005, joining when an insurgency raged and militants made a point of targeting recruits in the fledgling security forces. Being at the wrong checkpoint at the wrong time meant death.

Now, with violence falling across Iraq, Kadhem says she faces a more persistent challenge: persuading a conservative husband and society at large to accept her choice of career."We have to change the perception of women which says they should stay at home or only do certain kinds of work," she said. "At the beginning female policewomen were seen as a very odd phenomenon, but I hope society can progress beyond this."

A campaign by Saddam of "Islamisation" in the 1990s saw women's rights eroded. And since his downfall in the 2003 U.S. invasion, Iraq has been dominated by Shi'ite Islamist parties that are not sympathetic to calls for gender equality. Now, as U.S. forces hand over to local police and troops and get ready to withdraw completely by the end of 2011, female officers will play a vital role in the Iraqi security forces.

Whatever the complaints of their husbands or male colleagues, policewomen like Kadhem point out that one of Iraq's enemies, al Qaeda, has no qualms about recruiting women.Last year saw around two dozen female suicide bombers launch attacks on behalf of the Sunni Islamist militant group. They have proved a successful tactic, precisely because women are unlikely to be frisked by male police, police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim said.

Kadhem has strong personal reasons for her commitment to the force: her son, also a policeman, was kidnapped and killed in a sectarian attack at the height of the violence in 2006."The killing of my son made me determined to move up in my career," said an emotional Kadhem, wiping tears with a napkin.

"In Iraqi society, there are people who understand women can serve as well as men, and then there are the fanatics," she said. "I hope soon that everyone accepts us as just as capable".|||I don't know the answer to your question Faith, All I can say is I have never met or heard of this woman before now and I do not think there is a person I respect more on this planet

People like her show us the people we should and can be, when you compare people like britney spears, MADONNA or this woman as a role model I know who I would pick|||I think the second choice is harder.|||Why isn't she looking after her house %26amp; family? Give women freedom, and look what happens, they try and think. What next? I expect you'll want to vote!|||No.

Don't think so.

Look in the real world.

What do you think?|||If you want to be a policewoman, More power to you. No matter if it's in a small town or a large city. I have the utmost respect for any police officer, especially now a days dealing with this out of control society. Hey, women can deal with the public just as well as a man can. I'm a nurse and i gaurantee you it's not Florence Nightingale days anymore. Some of the best nurses are men now days!! Good luck to you if you are a woman and want to be a police officer....go for it!!

Policewoman or Veterinary nurse?

I'm not that old but, everyone seems to know what they want to do...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people who does things because everyone else does but, I know that these two jobs are the kind of thing I'd love to do from now till the end of my life.

They are unfortunately a little to different for me to choose my options and then when college comes make the decision then. So I wanted to see what people thought about the jobs? E.g. The money...|||I don't know much about being a policewoman or the process to become one, but I can tell you a little bit about veterinary technicians! Some veterinary clinics have volunteer programs where you can learn all about how a veterinary clinic operates. I just applied to volunteer at one the other day, and the person in charge told me that the volunteers would be shadowing the technicians and learning how to do stuff, learning about certain conditions, watching surgeries, etc. Try to see if you can find a place like that so you know how it works. Personally, I was a vet tech for a year at a small clinic. I had no experience, but they tried teaching me everything they could. The reason why I am about to volunteer now is because I left the clinic and want things I wasn't able to before so that I can feel more comfortable with my next job (and maybe I'll be able to get a job at the clinic I am volunteering at!). I can't tell you much about the pay since I am just a college student and I had no experience with animals prior to my job. My suggestion is to start off volunteering or find a job as a vet tech where they can teach you what you need to know and see if you like it. If you want to pursue it as a career, then maybe you can become a certified veterinary technician through a college and you'll probably get paid more since you'd be more qualified.

I am interested in going to vet school, and I personally really loved working as a vet tech. I loved the animals and I loved the medicine part of it. It's a job that made me really happy, and I learned a lot! If you love animals, it's definitely a job to consider. Anyways, good luck! :)

Edit: Reply to Bloody Lady: I got ripped then. I got paid $8.50 an hour, but I wasn't certified (first time working as a vet tech). My cousin got paid $11.50 at the same clinic. He wasn't certified either and it was also his first time working at a clinic. I guess it all depends. I'm sure you get paid more than that if' you're certified. As a tech, I talked to the client's to find out about the dog's history, helped the doctor with anything he needed in the back, gave vaccines, did blood work, stool samples (and read them under a microscope... that's fun!), anal glands, restraining/holding the pet, prepare meds, take x-rays, dentals (I thought that was fun) and prepare for and assist with surgeries. Additional duties including taking care of dogs that were boarding, keeping the clinic clean and organized, and basic grooming. Usually a receptionist will take care of filing and paper work.

I worked at a small clinic. At a larger clinic, they might have different vet techs specializing in different areas. I just applied at a vet's office that has 4 types of technicians (they're all cross-trained though). They have a "room technician" (talking to the client and finding out the pet's medical history and reason for the visit), a "lab technician" who'll run any lab work that needs to be done (and works with the microscopes and cool little machines), a "surgery technician" who will assist the doctor with surgeries and administer anesthesia and any pre-op medication, and the typical technician that helps the doctor out with everything in the back (including vaccines, take bloodwork, hold the pet, clean ears, apply/administer medication, and assist the doctor during the exam). I personally liked doing everything! :)

How hard is the physical training to become a policeman if even women do it?

Is the physical training to become a policeman really that hard if even women do it? I see women who become policewomen and are not in shape at all. They couldn't even make it through the gym class. Do they go easy on them during training?|||It's easy.|||The departments I worked for had the exact same standards regardless of gender. Unfortunately, many departments don't have an on-going fitness requirement (although some give bonuses or other incentives to stay in shape). In my experience, I've seen many more out-of-shape male cops rather than the other way around.|||I heard they have different standards on women

Do hand sanitizers work on gloves?

today i saw a policewoman use hospital hand sanitizer on her gloves. do hand sanitizers clean gloves as well? or does it work only on skin? just curious thanks|||sure it does. The main ingredient in most hand sanitizers is alcohol, which kills a lot of germs on contact, whether on skin or other surfaces.

I was reading the requirements to become a US Police Officer and it saidyou must be a US citizen, well if im english then i cant be one?? im confused because i want to be a police women but i am moving to america when im older|||michael is right it is harder for english people now to move to america than for any other nationality, if you have a non english parent or grandparent look into their nationality for possibilities|||Its almost impossible to move from the UK to the US.

There are no VISAs! Nothing to even apply for!

The only real way is for somone to sponsor you,

Main way : Husband, if you marry an american you can get a green card and then after 3 years become a citizen.

There are employment based visas but essentialy if an American has your skills and can do the job well you dont get a visa. And the employer has to pay and prove it not you.|||I'm afraid the others are right, it is impossible for White British to apply for residency or citizenship. Same with most other European countries.

But we let in the dregs of every other country, world wide. Makes no sense to me.|||Yes you can.

You can also become a US citizen as well.|||You must be a US citizen. So, no, you cannot. They can do anything they want, i know it's not fair.|||its normal and when you report it they will tell you we will look into it then they will tell you it was police business because her radio was not functioning or something of that nature|||was it on vibrate alert? lol|||It saddens me that over the years there seems to be a definite trend for the police in the UK to be subject to a different set of motoring laws to that of the rest of the UK public. For example, when a police officer is caught speeding when not on an emergency call, and on the rare occasion that the case comes to court, inevitably s/he is let off. Or the times when a police vehicle is caught on camera, but police efforts at identifying the driver come to nought and no charges are ever brought.

It's a shame this happens so often, because, speaking as a middle aged, middle class person who would normally be expected to respect and support the police, I now find myself wondering if there really is 'one law for the police driver and one for the rest of we motorists' and my regard for the police inevitably takes a bit of a hammering.

PS On recent traffic police TV programmes it has been noticeable how quite a few 'solo' police drivers, even when driving at high speeds, will use a 'phone or r/t handset. Some even manoeuvre their vehicles by using the palm of just one hand on the steering wheel rim! Now if Joe Public were seen doing such things, no doubt he would be 'given advice'! They are certainly not recommended methods in Roadcraft...|||Oooh, I do so agree with you.

Saw that myself one morning years ago, cop with his head down talking to his 'talking broach' and not looking at me busy cycling towards him - on my side of the road.

Also, a line of slow moving traffic leading to a roundabout, two cops on foot walking up the line of traffic and who saw but totally IGNORED the guy in the Range Rover who was talking on his phone while his car was in (slow) motion.

It's all quite antagonistic really.

Sash.|||Just like they can double park, run through red lights and various other things the rest of us can't do.

!ELOAH!Can a Policewoman make a complete arrest of a man?

YES including a pat down search and body cavity search while in the intake process at the jail.

Chief Inspector accused of shoplifting. What sort of message is this giving the public?

A policewoman with the rank of Chief Inspector based in Nottingham has been bailed following shoplifting charges. It is alleged that she stole make up from Tescos. Should she have been suspended?.|||Yes she should be suspended. It's obvious that there is evidence against her. By taking no action it's as if the Police ar saying that it's ok to steal from a store if you are a Police Officer. She has abused her position and should go never mind be suspended.|||Its a terrible message but to be honest I don't find it surprising. I too often witness the police breaking the law and getting away with it. If you dared to report them doing what I often see; driving through red lights, speeding then the force will just take their side as would a court which I find ridiculous. They should be subject to the same laws as everyone else and if there is any justice this Chief Inspector will be treated the same as any other offender.|||Not only should she be suspended, but she should be sacked. Given her position, she needs to be beyond reproach, and obviously she is not. When the leader of the Liberal Democrats Nick Clegg recently pointed out the huge numbers of currently serving UK police officers who have picked up criminal convictions during their careers (including some extremely serious ones like supplying drugs, fraud, theft, forgery, intimidation and perjury), but somehow still kept their jobs, the leader of ACPO accused him of being a bit fussy and picky and trying to discredit the police.

We live in a country where police men (or women) can lie in court to get a conviction, intimidate witnesses and defendants, and even murder suspects like those who shot Jean Charles de Menezes, yet little is done about it. If someone said these things were happening in Iran or Zimbabwe we would be up in arms.

It is indeed legal to dsmiss someone merely on suspicion. If a worker is suspected of stealing from their employers for example, to dismiss that employee is perfectly permissable, as the professional relationship is damaged.|||Police officers are not human and come from outer space! Now that I have got you to disagree with me on that you will be saying they are human. That being the case we have people who have problems with stress and behave in irrational ways. This could be one such case? Until this question was asked I did not know about her but it seems a big bit harsh and probably those who are asking for her to be sacked have done worse things in their life but of course that is why we have the term "double standards".

If she is not sick she needs to be treated like any other person. If every other person who breaks the law loses their job then ok, sack her. If every other person gets sentenced and pays the penalty but keeps their job then why treat her differently. Oh I forgot it's the double standard people who are wanting her sacked.|||Whilst I am silly enough to believe in innocent until proved guilty she should have been suspended at least but that's the police service nowadays for you. No doubt she will be supplied with a top lawyer and the Chief Constable will turn up in court to say what an outstanding officer she is. Sadly these days it's all predictable.|||I haven't read or seen the full circumstances of this story and I wouldn't condone what this officer may have done.

IF she is found guilty then she would more than likely be sacked.

It is interesting though to see how many people are happy to have this person sacked when they are only suspected of shop theft.

I wonder if people would be so quick to judge if it was them who was under suspicion...|||even police officers are innocent till proved guilty

she will be suspended but you can not sack any-one for being accused|||It's giving an accurate message: That cops must never be trusted.

It should be fired, jailed %26amp; fined; none of that will happen, cops are above the law.|||She has been accused only. What happened to innocent until proved guilty? Just let the system follow it course. Now if she is found guilty then she should be fired.|||Maybe she needs a pay increase since she cant afford makeup|||they will blame it on her hormonesand give her a 12 month paid holiday

Is it possible to be a policeman in the Netherlands if I'm not Dutch?

I'm an 18 years old girl and now I'm living in Rotterdam and learning Dutch. I'd like to be a policewoman, but I don't know anything about it. Please Dutch people help me!|||The Police wants people with a foreign background. Still you must speak the Dutch language very well, for example: have had Dutch as a second language when your former education was abroad. If you do not have the Dutch nationality you must have that before starting education. In the Netherlands there are difficult tests in health, condition and psychological.

You can do as a policewoman in Third Watch?

Yes, you can do it

Can anyone tell me what it is like being invovled in that sort of work?|||petty and pathetic..

the police are hated by almost everyone nowadays, they're so pinickatee

i got an 拢80 fine for swearin in the street last weekend?... thats more than a speeding ticket... so for something that can kill people to something that everyone does.. they find my "crime" to be more serious

bit of a joke really isn't it... coulda saved resources and caught a real criminal instead.. but its all about the arrests nowadays

Does anyone watching sky news think that policewoman looked like a character from tittybangbang?

Has Frances McDormand, who won an Oscar for playing Marge the policewoman, ever been in another film? I know that the actor William Macy, who played the conspiring husband, has made more movies. Both were terrific, as was the script writing and the cinematography.|||yes|||"Burn After Reading" is but one of many:

Ladies would you prefer to be arrested by Policemen ? Or by Policewomen ?

When an Offender is arrested by the Police if there is Policewoma(e)n he will feel humbled thus will react consequently. In our Western Civilisation, the Man is symbolising of the Authority and the Woman is symbolising of the Sweetness. And you Ladies ? If you were arrested what would you prefer ? Only by Policemen ? Or would you prefer that at least one Policewoman is included ?|||I prefer policemen|||I would be arrested by a police officer. I would not care what gender they were.|||Im not sure because it depends on the person specifically. Not all policemen will be mean and policewoman sweet. I might say policeman?|||Do we give criminals the choice of who they are arrested by? Surely not!|||I would prefer to not get arrested at all.|||If they buy me dinner first... the policeman.|||Ermm not at all tbh

Shooting and injuring a policewomen terrible, KILLING an unarmed man on London underground OK?

Obviously an appalling crime shooting this policewomen but should not somebody take the responsibility for killing an innocent Brazilian man in London.|||I agree with you 100%!

The police here have killed many unarmed members of the public %26amp; not one has been prosecuted for it, thats a fact!

We are not allowed to protect ourselves %26amp; they don't protect us, only themselves!

We have been disarmed yet they are arming themselves, why?

It's getting more like a police state %26amp; our freedom is at risk!|||I think you'll find that responsibility was taken.

It's just that the action was not considered blameworthy.|||i understand what your saying but two totally different incidents with totally different backgrounds. please move on and try to shell your bitterness to injustice. this country is so good at injustice, in fact legal system is a joke|||KEEP IT TO POLICE, LONDON, THEY ARE COMPETENT ENOUGH......|||Firstly can not believe how many ignorant poeple still think that Jean Charles de Mendez ran away and was shouted at to stop 'These are not true facts' People need to stop reading the Mail!!

In answer to your question I totally agree, unfortunatly the British police are an old boys society and if you kill or injure one of there own then you are going to have the full weight of the law fall on your shoulders.

Police Members should be safe and not shot at by the public but your right why so much news for one person who survived when there was almost not sympathy for Jean Charles.

Its a really messed up world

EDIT:@ Veritas - my reference to the mail was simply that in my opinion they are very anit immigration and always jump on the nearest bandwagon. Also the female office Commisioner Dick was in no way accountable for the actions of the police men who killed Jean Charles - the Met tried to frame her and make her a scape goat to protect Ian Blair.

Ian Blair should have resigned out of respect for the dead man's family and also as the meteropolition police service to put it bluntly - ****ED up!|||C'mon he was Brazillian|||they did hold an enquiry into the shooting of charles de menezes.

it was decided that the police had broken health %26amp; safety rules %26amp; were subsequently fined a paltry token amount, by any ones standards.

the UK had to send a message to terrorists %26amp; this poor innocent man was the perfect candidate.

what amazes me is when a police officer is shot is the establishments attitude is statements of how rare it is.

well maybe they can ignore the obvious but we can see it.

punishment in the UK is toothless %26amp; ineffectual.

Human rights has enabled the criminals have more rights than the victims!|||I almost gave 'hopper 3' a thumbs up until I noticed the poke at the mail. Why? All the newspapers initially ran with this story until it was proved to be untrue. No paper pushed harder than the Mail, for Blair to be held accountable and kicked out, not to mention the female cop in charge of the operation who got promoted and neatly sidestepped the issue.

PS. I read the mail every day, so I know what it reported.

I have also noted the attemps to continue the lie that he was running away from the police. To those people, no he damn well wasn't.|||I admit the shooting was wrong, If had not over stayed his visa

he would not have running from the police. He even jumped over the ticket barrier to escape after he was told to stop when running up Stockwell Road|||They should, but don't hold your breath you'll suffocate.|||It's about time the government brought back hanging I think that would get all these animals thinking.|||ofcourse you are right. But these things are mostly determined by media attention. In my country for exemple, a 15 year old child has been kidnapped and murdered, but they still havent found the killer. And this doesn't get any attention, while maddie has been on the news the past 6 months. Another exemple: terrorist attack in Saoudi-Arabia with 30 deads, and nobody cares. Terrorist attack in America with 30 deads, and it's on the world news.|||boring, the guy was an illegal immigrant, and if he was not breaking the law in the first place he would be alive today in his Brazilian slum. as for the dead copper, if they are stupid enough to do the job they have to expect that on occasion they are gonna get shot.|||The worst thing i think was that the police covered the murder up..... can we trust anyone anymore?|||I'm hearing you.......everyone's a winner. Ise gets ya mate.

I should develop this argument, should get fair critical acclaim. Double standards eh?|||I think you are trying to make two and two make five.....not really the same...although I agree that someone of rank should have been either sacked or demoted for the shooting on the tube.|||From what i hear, this brazilian who was shot on the underground had just jumped over the ticket barrier and was running down the platform, police shouted for him to stop but he didn't. What would you be saying if it turned out that he did have a bomb but the police let him pass without checking him out?

These policemen were doing their job the police woman was doing her job.

What do you think is the funniest part of the movie Pineapple Express?

I think the car chase with the policewoman and the foot in the dashboard thing is really funny.|||I thought the fight between Red, Dale, and Saul was absolutely hilarious!! Especially when they are going to knock down the bathroom door. Then Red goes: "If you're gonna break it down, you gonna pay for it?" Then they break the door down, and Red's head hits the ceramic sink, and knocks it right of the wall, and Saul is in the shower jumping on the phone.

It was great. :]|||nah nah! those parts were indeed hilarious! but id have to say when his said "you just got killed by a daewoo" and shot half the guys foot off with his shotgun,

Is a policeman suppose to let a 15 year kid get out of his car and run away with the non-custodial parent?

Is there something that will prove to a mouthy, stubborn teenage kid that thinks they dont have to listen to anyone, even authority. How can I get this one some help.( a policeman said they are allowed to leave home and a policewoman a day before said the oppisite.|||The police aren't there to mediate your custody battle. If he needs some tough love, that's your job.|||Two words, there, bud:

BOOT CAMP!|||If the kid doesn't want to live with you there must be a significant reason. Did you try and keep him from the other parent and put a bunch of restrictions on him and say bad things about the other parent and meanwhile bring in some stepparent that is suppose to try and take the other parents place? This is a very good reason to run away. I hope this is not your reason why he ran away. Kids should be given the right to decide who they want to live with. With just some understanding and being on good terms with the other parent, you could still have the kid with you. If you can't manage to get along with the other parent for the kids sake, then look forward to the next 3 years (until he is 18) of run away problems, along with many other problems he may face due to something you could solve right now.|||Try LISTENING to the mouthy, stubborn teenage kid. If a teenage kid is mouthy and stubborn, there's a reason for it, and your use of the words "non-custodial parent" brings to my attention that he's not only a child of divorce, but a child of a less-than-amicable split if a "non-custodial parent" exists in the first place.

I don't know the ins and outs of your divorce or split or whatever it was and I don't WANT to. I just want to make the point that the kid is having a hard time of it and that's thanks to YOUR doing. You've created the monster, whether it was intentional or not and whether you realized you were doing it or not. It takes two to make a kid. You made your bed. Now you have to lie in it. Don't blame the kid entirely.

Hi could anybody help me the policewoman in emmerdale that is investigateing mark wilds murder. what has she?

What do you think of Policemen and Policewomen?

Im writing a report about societies view of police and i just need peoples views of what they think of the police.|||I have nothing but respect and gratitude for law enforcement officers. Without the police, there would be anarchy and widespread violence and crime. It takes a special kind of person to risk their life so that others may live. A lot of stupid people, including some on this website, hate the police for no good reason. Sure, there are some bad cops, but there will be a percentage of bad people in any group of a similar size (bad people seem to be the majority of the cop-hating group though). The vast majority of police officers are good people who try to help their community and the people in it. They have to deal with horrible crimes on an almost daily basis, and then they get abused by these idiots. They deserve the thanks of the public, but, unfortunately, they very rarely get it.|||It really depends, I know alot of people who speak badly of Police Officers and it's really stupid to be honest. Sure there are lots of idiot and corrupted cops out there who abuse there powers and just plain do stupid stuff, But that doesn't make them all that way, There are also great cops out there who do their job well and actually care about helping people and really care about getting the *******/drug dealers etc. off the streets. Overall though I think there are more legit cops then corrupted ones, So I have alot of respect for those who do their job well.|||Police are like everyone else. Just doing a thankless job to try and help keep the people safe. Just like everyone else you have lots of really good ones and a few bad ones that make them all look bad.|||They are incompetent, abusive thugs.|||I'm gonna be a Bounty Hunter soon. They're good for the business. ;)|||I Have No Use For Them.|||What they said. ^

What is a good idea for a uniform fancy dress outfit?

I need ideas for fancy dress party with the theme of uniform but something original - not the usual slutty policewoman, sailor, school girl etc. Also needs to be something I can do relatively easily and cheaply!! I thought of an air hostess or a thunderbird but I can find any hats because I can't afford a whole outfit!!!|||Try maybe being a chef or waitress. You can get those kinds of uniforms easily at http://www.sharperuniforms.com/. If you get an apron and stuff, you can use it over again when you're cooking at home. I figure you might as well get something that can serve multiple purposes!

I hope this helps.|||A Female Fire Fighter could be an original idea!, lots of men go out as firemen, so why not women too, I know you didn't want to spend money on a full outfit but the one on the Disguises Fancy Dress website might give you an idea for creating your own outfit, hope this is useful I have put a link to take you directly to the outfit - http://www.disguises-fancy-dress.co.uk/product_smiffys_info/fever-range/fever/fever-fire-fighter-costume-p-23372

If you were a policeman/policewoman, and you saw someone being raped, would you deny saving them if . . .?

If you were a policeman/policewoman, and you saw someone being raped, would you deny saving them if they didn't pay their 'Rape Insurance'?|||The Fire Dept, should not have let the fire burn the house down. Don't compare to rape though, the people were not in the house. The Fire Dept could have put a hefty late fee on the bill. There were animals in the house, the whole situation is sad. I personally don't think a fire Dept should be able to charge people, I think it should be paid for with tax dollars and this is why~|||Police are sworn officers to uphold the laws of the state. Firefighters are not. Your argument holds zero water. Maybe the man shouldn't have REFUSED to pay his out-of-jurisdiction fire assessment.

If he had skipped his insurance payment, is his insurance company still liable to rebuild his house? NO|||The fire dept. OFFERED IT AS A COURTESY and the man failed to pay the fee thinking that "they were jus' joshin' around 'bout that money thing".

The city THAT ACTUALLY PAYS THOSE FIREMEN is their ONLY responsibility.

A cop, is paid by ALL taxpayers in one form or another but knowing cops like I do.........the answer is still yes.

*never met a cop who wasn't looking for what was in it for him*|||WTF are you talking about, there is no such thing as rape insurance, why would you even want to ask a question like this? You need to see a councelor.|||No since I hate sexual predators as much as the Nazis hated the Jews.|||No I wouldn't let a house burn down if someone hadn't paid their fire tax either. I would just bill them for the cost's of putting the fire out.|||You are trying to compare this to the firemen who let a house burn down. It didn't work.

FAIL!|||There is no such thing as "rape" insurance. Where did that come from????????|||Have you paid the rent for the space that this question is taking up?

Why are lesbians attracted by the sight of a uniform? Especially a Police uniform?

I have a lesbian friend of a friend who always seems to get excited everytime she sees a policewoman. She also gets excited when she sees a policeman, but less so. What's the pyschology behind it all? I'm too afraid to ask her myself, because she's bigger than me.|||Oh I'm the same :) My ex and I had lots of little role play about her being a cop and me caught for speeding. What I had to do and show her to get off getting a ticket :D It's the power thing, she is a top and I like that thing.

I do find other uniforms sexy, I suppose it's an authority thing, but not all uniforms turn me on a nurses/doctors uniform wouldn't.|||Why do all straight guys love lesbians?

Why do all gay guys act like Jack from Will and Grace?

Do you see where I'm going with this? Generalizing groups of people is just as stupid as someone attempting to answer them.

Your friend has a fetish for uniforms, there are plenty of people who have uniform fetishes who are gay, bi and straight.

If you want to know HER reason for loving uniforms you're just going to have to grow a pair and ask her.|||Well, Jack, I'm not a lesbian, I'm a gay man and I find uniforms to be hot, too. IDK, it may just be the hyper-masulinity that the uniform represents or how clean-cut and "in charge" these people seem to be. Policemen, firemen, soldiers, EMT's, you name it and I get all hot and bothered. LOL!|||Well I personally don't like police[wo]men nor their uniforms, but a female firefighter; now that's a different story. Very sexy! Also, I don't think it has anything to do w/ sexual orientation, there are plenty of heterosexuals that find men %26amp; women in uniform to be sexy.|||cause its the whole tiemeup and hang me from the chandelier fantasy :P we love women with power~!|||why is a man exited when he see's a woman in a short skirt?

why is a man exited but lesly when he see's a woman?

What sort of investigation is there after a police shooting?

Whenever there is a police shooting and someone is killed. When a policeman or policewoman shoots someone in the line of duty. Is it handled like murder investigation. OR Is there any investigation at all if its justified OR is there just a police integrity investigation. As far as i know they dont have a license to kill so i assume some investigation happens, assuming its not to clear their name but just to find out what exactly happened.|||My city in my state others may vary.

Any time an police officer shoots at someone (uses deadly force), whether the person is just hit, killed or not even injured there is a very full investigation by a number of groups.

My department sends out homicide detectives. They do most of the investigation, gathering of witnesses and coordination of evidence gathering. Then a representative of the department chief, an investigator and supervisor from the civilian police review board, an investigator from the police internal affairs division, a county prosecutor, the officer's commander, his watch commander and field lieutenant (who has done a separate street investigation) and the commander of the homicide unit all get together. The officer(s) and witnesses and often the person who was being shot at, give their statements and are questioned by anyone on the panel. The investigation is reviewed by the panel and a preliminary decision (pending analysis of physical evidence by the crime lab) is made.

The decision on whether to take the case to a grand jury or to charge and officer or to consider the shooting justifiable belongs to the prosecutor (by law). Any of the others can bring internal charges up against the officer for wrong doing.|||Yes. The internal affairs department of the police gets involved and I believe the officer has to immediately hand in his gun till the investigation is over. Even if the cop had all the right to shoot the person there will still be an investigation in a shooting where someone is killed.
