What is the punishment for a person who raped a policewoman?

the same as it would be for anyother woman

do you think since I'm not a policewoman, if I was raped it wouldn't be as bad?|||"the same as it would be for anyother(sic) woman"

Except replace woman with person (male friend of mine got raped with date drugs by a girl in his class). Although I guess if the police officer in question was on duty, there'd be a lot of other things that'd be added to the bill.|||The same as any other woman, unless she was on duty. If she was in uniform when the rape occurred, the charges will be different.|||The charge would be the same as rape of any other person, of course.

The only possible difference in charges would be that, if the officer were on duty, then a charge of 'assault upon a public servant' could be proffered.

Of course, that being said, though the crime is the same, the judge might choose to give a harsher sentence. People in public service, from the district attorneys to the judges right down to the court clerks feel such crimes personally, and the defendant is likely to have a MUCH rougher ride through the court system (no plea bargains here).|||Everyone here is correct. Rape of a police officer on duty and the rape of a woman who is a private citizen is the same degree offense.

Aslt of a police officer is a higher charge than a citizen because we are placed in harms way by the nature of our jobs.

Rape is a higher charge than Aslt on a peace officer.

That's the official answer.

Personally, I think rapists should be be dealt with in a less kind manner, no matter who they rape. Their victims get to carry all those memories around for the rest of their lives.....
