Do hand sanitizers work on gloves?

today i saw a policewoman use hospital hand sanitizer on her gloves. do hand sanitizers clean gloves as well? or does it work only on skin? just curious thanks|||sure it does. The main ingredient in most hand sanitizers is alcohol, which kills a lot of germs on contact, whether on skin or other surfaces.
